Romeo

A beautiful 17 hh. gelding originally from Germany, Romeo also lived in Southlands, Vancouver and Langley. Bred for dressage and a beautiful mover, he prefers to work at his own pace. He loves to visit people over the fence, adores children and is happiest when meandering about the local mountain trails and roads.

Antonio

Originally from Italy, Antonio is a handsome 17 hh gelding who had a full career as a jumper before he came to the Sunshine Coast for semi retirement. He loves to do a little bit of everything: jumping, dressage, trail rides, and hanging out in his paddock and hoping for apples and scratches behind the ears.

Winston

An adorable little mini who came to the farm from the interior. He loves to be brushed and go for walks. He and Joey have become best of buddies hanging about together – though he prefers to watch and conserve his energy when Joey goes for gallops.

Joey

A miniature appaloosa horse, Joey was born in Southlands and is a smart and active little guy. He loves to practice and show his little tricks, gallop about his paddock, and chat with the big guys over the fence.

Meet the Goats

This little family of miniature goats (Ginger, Patches, Pepper, Lulu and Ruby) were all brought to the farm as rescues or to be rehomed. They are all females – and love to play, jump and burrow in the dirt. They especially love to eat leftover greens from the garden.

reba.jpg

Reba

A beautiful Llama who was a rescue through the SPCA, Reba has been here for over 3 years and has now become a trusting and friendly member of the farm. She keeps an eye out for predators and helps to keep her little gang of goats in line.

Shadow

Shadow was adopted from a local farm. She is an alpaca who is little tattered, with her missing eye and overbite, but a lovely, gentle and trusting soul. Her coat provides valuable and beautiful fiber to local fiber artists.

Chloe

Chloe is the resident yellow Labrador who is the self-appointed barn manager and proudly supervises and protects the property with a twinkle in her eye. She absolutely loves to have her belly rubbed and is the friendly greeter to all. True to the nature of a lab, she loves her food and will steal any leftovers lying around.

Mickey

Mickey – the resident indoor cat – was adopted by Lori when he was 7. He stays pretty close to the house now, as he is somewhere in his early teens. He loves lounging in a basket in the laundry room.

The Chickens and Ducks

The interesting chicken breeds Lori raises are good egg layers and have ample room to dust bath and wander. Though she didn’t plan on having ducks, on a trip to the SPCA, staff asked if she was interested in a little group of ducks and a goose. The rest is history and today they love to wander down to the big pond for a swim.

The Bees

The bees are a new addition to the farm. Lori has taken her beekeeping certification and tends to the bees with care. Watch for our own local honey, as well as balms made from the wax and garden herbs, coming soon.
